  • PART 1 of my three part series of BACK and BOOTY exercises. These exercises are a great way to activate the glutes while increasing back strength and flexibility. They make a great little series combined with my other videos I’ll be sharing later this week. Repeat 2-3 times to make a circuit that can be incorporated into any routine. Also, sometimes I add ankle weights for more intensity.
    HERE IT IS...

    1️⃣Swan w/ arm variations:
    -bent crossed arms-10 reps
    -bend wide elbows-12 reps
    -open arms-15 reps
    2️⃣Rocking-10 reps
    3️⃣Bow Pose-15 leg lifts + 20 pulses
    4️⃣Single leg lifts-15 reps + 20 pulses
    5️⃣Double leg lifts-15 reps
    6️⃣Double leg lifts w/ swan-10 reps

    Note: I sped up the video in order to fit everything in under one minute. When doing these I move very slowly and use the principle of control for more efficient muscle engagement and increased range of motion. #pilatesworkout #nycfit

  • Perturbation Training!!! I love using the jump board and toning balls for perturbation training. You’ll also get some plantar fascia love going on.

    Think of perturbation training as "sharpening the reflexes” as it helps develop quick neuromuscular corrections. Here the foot does small quick corrections on the wiggly toning balls. .
    .
    I do traditional footwork spring load and warm up with “footwork” on these toning balls.
    Arch of the foot on the ball
    Heels on the toning balls dorsiflexed at ankle
    Heels on the toning balls plantar flexed ankle
    “High half toe,” ball of foot on the toning balls .
    .
    For more heat in the lower legs and feet, place arches on the toning ball and plantar/dorsi flex the ankles letting the toning balls roll up and down on the feet. Then do circles both ways. .
