- In case you didn't know, there's actually a short comic about my dwarven lady and one of her friends, made by partner @schpognieves (artwork) and me (lore and world building). It came out in @jazamcomics issue 13, in German only. We're working on their stories since about 2 years. Gwenbari is a dwarven merchant who travels the world. She's a hedonist and loves money, good liquors and women - especially in bed. (Though she doesn't scorn good lovers of other genders, either). She's not really a good person; when her acquaintances get into fights she rather bets on a winner then actually helping. But at the same time she's also pretty interested in the mindset of others, in their passions especially.
You can check out @schpognieves for more Gwenbari artworks, and I will keep you updated when there's actually online comic material! For now you can order issue 13 at @jazamcomics.
Up until now it didn't occur to me to share some of her written stories. Would you be interested in that? Sadly It'd be only in German for now. And if I'd share them where would you like to read it, are there any specific sites?

- To answer the questions I get about the tools I use: This is pretty much what I’ve been using to make all my jewelry. To this I also have my anvil (not present in this picture) which is the « Backbone » of it all.

- These drinking horns are from the handful I have done and that I will be putting up on etsy soon. I will also be putting up a pre-order for more once the ones that are made sell out. I will probably only be doing them in batches a few times a years, so keep your eyes peeled!
These designs are based off of an original find in Western Norway and is now held in the NTNU University Museum. (See composite photo for original, M.N.# T18526) Not much is know about it but that it was purchased at an antique trade show and that the museums dates the period as late medieval.

- Mare Normannorum - Normans in the Mediterranean: Part 1
In the year 911 Charles the Simple, King of West Francia (what would become France) made a decision which would change the world, and leave an impact on history still felt to this day.
The decision Charles made was to negotiate with the Norwegian Viking, Rollo. Since the 9th century Vikings had been raiding the coasts of Francia, and sailing down the Seine to raid the towns situated along it, including Paris.
In 911, Rollo led a raid on Chartres and lay siege to it; he was defeated by the Franks. The West Frankish king must have grown tired of the constant raiding of his kingdom, and so negotiated a treaty - the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte.
Chief among the treaty’s conditions for the Normans was the demand that they convert to Christianity and renounce their pagan ways, and also that they swear loyalty to King Charles and aid in the defence of his realm against other Viking incursions. In exchange, Charles would give Rollo and his Northmen rule over the territory of Neustria in Northern France. Neustria would eventually become known as the Duchy of Normandy, and the people who lived there would be called Normans. The development of Normandy is another story, however. This series will instead skip over those formative years, and begin with a man named Tancred, a baron from a minor Norman family: the Hautevilles.
