  • Potato Curry or Rassewale Aaloo
    Boil 2-3 big potatoes
    Add a spoon of oil in a pan
    Add mustard seeds and cumin and a pinch of hing
    Add curry leaves and fresh chillies if you’d like
    Add 3-4 finely chopped tomatoes
    Add salt, turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder
    Cover lid and let it cook
    Add chopped boiled potatoes
    Add amchur powder (my most favorite)
    Mix well.
    Add water and mix well. Cover lid and let it cook.
    Garnish with fresh cilantro.
    Serve with hot chappatis or rice.

  • When you find the most unexpected of delicacies at an unexpected place the feeling of joy is almost uncontrollable 😍

    Something like that happened during my latest tasting at Sigree DP Road towards the “Wah Punjab” punjabi food festival.
    .
    Among other things, the Jalebi here’s fantastic and among the finest I have ever tasted out of North India. It’s a pure desi ghee preparation and works like a charm, it’s crispy, neither too thick nor too thin - to sum up a perfect jalebi with no cardamom or saffron flavouring that really kills the preparation for me at so many other places.
    .
    The Badam Halwa (next pic in frame) was pretty good too and at first look, you may not recognise that it’s a badaam halwa after all.
    .
    Talking about the food, almost all the 14 or so starters in the dinner buffet were mouthwatering with the following as absolute recommendations from my end:

    🤟🏼Rawalpindi Paneer Tikka - absolute melt in the mouth preparation.
    🤟🏼Samosa Chaat - awesome ❤️
    🤟🏼Shakarkandi ki Tikki - pretty unique, a little sweet but went well with green chutney.
    🤟🏼Murgh Tikka Lahori
    🤟🏼Fish Amritsari
    🤟🏼Seekh Kebab
    🤟🏼Matar Paneer
    🤟🏼Gosht Tariwala 🤟🏼Chicken Biryani - not the most outstanding one you would ever find but pretty decent.
    🤟🏼Jalebi - fabulous.
    🤟🏼Rabdi - thick and lovely.
    🤟🏼Badaam Halwa

    The festival is up and running till the 31st of January and this vast buffet shall cost at 717 bucks all inclusive for dinner.

    It’s an absolute thumbs up from my side and biryanimaster definitely khush hua.

  • I ordered Murgh Tandoori(Half) from Soul Spice Restaurant on Zomato. It took 30 mintues to receive the order. Service from @zomatoin is good as the dish costs 126 rs (Original price 210) with @zomatoin offer and the delivery guy was smart.
    Now straight forward to the food. The packaging was good but the unforgivable mistake from the restaurant is that, they neither sent "Pudina Chatni" nor a single piece of "Lemon". I should end up the review here because Murgh Tandoori without Pudia Chatni and Lemon is just like Fish without water or playing cricket without bat.
    About the taste? It's over spicy (I know Murgh Tandoori is a spicy item but every dish has a proportion of spice). It's over oily and it's dull. The most important thing is, it was raw from inside.
    It was a horrible experience for my taste buds I shouldn't give them a single star but I'm giving 1 as it looked like Murgh Tandoori, smelt like tandoori at first place and it filled my empty stomach a little.
