  • When you look in the mirror today, what do you see? Do you stare at the imperfections you think you have or do you see a glow that can only come from the light of God?
Today, take a moment to really look at yourself. Instead of zooming in on things you wish you could change, see yourself as God sees you.
His beautiful creation. Take a few minutes to thank Him for each and every beautiful quality He has given you.
Remember to praise Him in front of your kids for the unique features and gifts He has given you. They learn from us. Teach them to see themselves through His eyes and not the eyes of the world.
It's not always easy to see ourselves and not compare ourselves to others but remember that comparison is the THIEF of Joy.
Be your beautiful self sisters. Happy Monday!

  • Maybe you feel like you've been stuck in the same season far too long. Maybe the same things keep happening to you over and over, and you are tired. Tried of crying out. Tired of waiting for an answer. Tired of waiting for a change.
    .
The enemy loves to convince us that God can't hear us, that there is no hope, & where we are right now is where we'll be forever. The enemy loves to weaken our belief in what God is capable of, to break us down to the point that we are asking "what is the point anymore?" The enemy loves to lie.
    .
But God hears you. He hears your cry. He hears your prayers. God wants you. He wants your attention, He wants your heart. He wants every part of your life. God cares for you. He loves you with the deepest and most powerful love there is.
    .
We can call on Him with complete confidence. We can trust that He can do anything, and He will answer us. Keep the faith, and recognize the enemy's lies for what they truly are. Stay in the Word, and God will strengthen you. He will always hear you, and He will always love you every step of the way.
    .
Jeremiah 29:12-13 // "Call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."

  • Maybe you’re afraid to turn the page, open up the next chapter. Maybe you’ve already moved the bookmark, trying to skim the plot twists without learning the lesson that’s hidden in between. Regardless, today’s a new page in your book, a fresh start; it’s a good idea to ask the Author of the Moment to guide the steps of your script and give this chapter over to God. Pencil in your prayers and watch surrender take place. Rather than an anxious kind of page turner, let’s make 2019 a calming read, with a highlighter in hand to highlight the good, and remember that no matter what happens in between - there’s a guaranteed happy ending and it ends with Jesus. Affirm yourself in this: “I trust the next chapter of my book because I know the author “ ⭐️💝 Happy Monday, friends | Q: Are you ready to turn the page today with highlighter in hand? Give me a 🖐!

  • Our life will never be perfect, that’s a fact. However, if we spend all of our time worrying about what might be coming our way, we’ll never reap the benefits the world has to offer. The worry warts of the world miss out on so many joys because they focus all their energy on the things that could happen so they miss out on the good things that actually did happen.

God doesn't expect you to be perfect. That's why He sent Jesus to save us—He knew we needed a Savior to be our strength when we are weak, to guide us, to show us the way, and to take the punishment for our sins. The gospel is what fuels God-led goals, helping us feel motivated to get back on track when we fall. Where you can't, He can. In fact, He already did on the cross. No matter what you achieve or don't achieve, God has achieved the ultimate victory over death for you and for me! There isn't a mess you've made that He can't make into something beautiful.
Seek His wisdom. Nothing good comes from worrying.
Take time to enjoy the moment because once today is over you can never get it back. And trust Him to pour His grace out over you
Take steps in faith. Focus on the good things in life – no matter how trivial they may seem.

  • “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
    whose confidence is in Him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
    It does not fear when heat comes;
    its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

  • “2018 was the year I stepped into the light. I dealt with something I had deeply buried and allowed God’s grace and love to wash over the dark places. I reached out for help, letting those closest to me in on my pain. I cried a lot of tears, held hands with my loved ones and walked through a season of fresh grief together. There were moments I thought I wouldn’t make it to the other side, moments I wished to go back to what was. There were days on end that left me foggy headed and sad. But still, I was free. ⠀

I’d like to say I survived the process, but really, it is STILL a process. I asked my husband recently to tell me when the pain will stop. Pulling me in close he whispered, ‘it will get better, but may never stop.’ He has been right so far (I hate it when that happens). The pain most days is less sharp than before. Instead of being excruciatingly aware of it, it’s more like a dull ache in the background of my day. But friend, I survived. I am surviving. I am a survivor. ⠀
There will be a day where I share more of my story - our story, really - but today I wanted to share enough to encourage those of you sitting on the wrong side of healing. I see you.” /// Bravely Choosing Light over on the blog today. If you are struggling in your dark places, I pray you find an encouragement here. Let today be the day you choose light. ⠀

  • Keep going, don’t look back but only look foreword relying on God’s perfect plan. It’s not easy but its becoming the key to conquering the mountains of difficulty that arise in the landscape of my life.

  • I only wish I could have read the open letter we have on the blog today when I was in high school. I wish Hannah’s words could have been a reminder to the insecure sixteen year-old looking for love in what she thought, were the right places. I hope YOU or the leading lady in your life does get the chance to read Hannah’s heartfelt letter…⠀

It’s for you. It’s for any woman who has ever let her standards slip and made compromises that left lasting scars. Scars that endured even into marriage...⠀

Sisters, this letter hit me like a ton of bricks. It is so raw and real and such a necessary message for the church. Guys, if you take the time to read it today I think you’ll get a little glimpse into the heart of a female. ⠀

I can’t thank @hannahsheely enough for contributing such a powerful piece the This Illustrious Life ✨

  • "All through scriptures God's glory is about two things: Presence and beauty." John Mark Comer . And when someone takes what God has created and makes it into something beautiful, His presence causes us to stop, stare, pull the phone out and capture it. His glory is everywhere! Sometimes it looks like a colorful sunset and other times, a beautiful entry way and a flowering bush on a dull, winter day. . "Our job is to make the invisible God visible--to mirror and mimic what he is like to the world. We can glorify God by doing our work in such a way that we make the invisible God visible by what we do and how we do it."
    .

That's my continual prayer. You? The flower caught my eye because anything that blooms in cold and lack of light deserves respect. But that entryway speaks too. .

I've been thinking a lot about the beauty within the beauty, rest within our rest, life within my life. I can't make that plant, the wood for the door, stone for the path but I can take a photo and share it with you here. .

What beautiful thing are you making with your life today? How are you bringing God glory with your beautiful work? Tell me how you spend your days. Me? I'm stringing words together, creating stories, narratives, chapters. . . . .

Here's to being made in His image on Monday and bringing our art into the world! May God get the glory!

  • It’s not worthy of your attention. ⠀

    The giant you face. ⠀
    The struggle with anxiety. ⠀
The fears and doubts of Gods provision. ⠀
    The exhaustion. ⠀
    The overwhelm. ⠀
    The feeling of intimidation. ⠀

It’s not worthy of your attention. Only God is. ⠀

Do not get stuck on your incapabilities when God IS capable. You are limited in your strength, but HE is unlimited in all things. ⠀

If we be in need of grace, his grace is available in every moment. If our strength is waning, He is eager to meet us with his power. When fear tries to insert its dirty claws into our mind, Christ reminds us that we can conquer through HIM who strengthens us. ⠀

So, no matter the size of your giant, whether in your marriage, in your personal life, with your friendships, or in your motherhood, you must refuse to be impressed by its size. It is Christ who is worthy. It he He who has won the battle. Praise Him. Give thanks to him. That is spiritual warfare. ⠀

In praise and thanksgiving you will defeat Goliath. I repeat, do not be impressed by the size of the giant. It’s not worthy of your attention. ⠀

    Xo!⠀

  • "ANCHORED"
Hope. Our world needs it so badly. Martin Luther King, Jr was and is a source of hope for so many. And his hope was anchored in Jesus.
We often put our hope in the wrong things, people and circumstances and when they fail, we become hopeless. God does not fail. When things seems to be way off and joy seems to be missing and love is on the endangered species list, we must be anchored in Jesus Christ. He will pull us where we need to go and keeps us where we need to be. He will keep us connected to faith, hope and love.
MLK was anchored in Jesus Christ and believed in a better world. His hope in the living Word and Truth kept him moving forward boldly even to the point of losing his own physical life. That is where being anchored to Jesus pulled MLK and I am confident that he was absolutely willing to go there.

Don't give up hope today. Consider where your hope is anchored.
To be hopeless is much like being homeless while standing next to an open door, to a warm home filled with love and joy where you are being invited in to live.

    RENEW. RESTORE. REPEAT.

  • The Kitchen Collection is NOW AVAILABLE through the link in my bio! And with it, the design I’m most excited about - the Steadfast Love mug.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve been walking through the Old Testament for the last 2 years. Two weeks ago I finished the Psalms, and I’ve found that nothing describes God’s love better than how He has described it Himself. 196 times in the Old Testament - 127 times in Psalms alone, God speaks of His love as steadfast. Resolute. Firm. Unwavering.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
God communicates with His people through covenants (promises). He kept (and still is keeping) His promises to Abraham thousands of years after he had passed away. Steadfast. David’s Psalms are continually recalling God’s care in saving His people from Egypt as comfort that the same promises to him would be kept. Remembering. Remembering. The entirety of Scripture is full of people remembering what God did in the past in order to strengthen their faith in the present.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are not steady, us humans. Our feelings jump from one extreme to the other, within minutes, and faith cannot root in a heart dependent on feelings and experiences; faith is not a feeling, faith is a gift and a choice. It is a decision to remember what God has done in the past and a choice to hold fast to belief that He will do it again - because of His steadfast love.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I pray that this mug would help you to hold fast to the promises of scripture as a remembrance that they have never failed, and never will in the future. God, His love, and His plans are all steadfast, resolute, unwavering, firm. The Bible (and every bit of my experience) tells me so.
