    Here is an awesome shoulder raise variation for you to try.

    The Landmine Raise.

    This variation allows you to move in both the Sagittal and Frontal planes of motion rather than only one or the other with traditional Front and Lateral Raises.

    It is also more shoulder friendly so if you are like me, and get shoulder pain with traditional raises, you can avoid the pain and still work the muscles of the shoulder.

    To set up, use a landmine base or put the end of the bar into a corner.

    Stand perpendicular to the bar with the end at your closest hip level.

    With a slight bend in the arm, rasie the bar up to shoulder height, following the half Moon path of the bar.

    Give this variation a try on your next shoulder or arm day.

    As always, good form, appropriate weight and strong core.

  • Y’all... of all lifts I have cleared as of late I am MOST proud of this one 😭 I have dreamed of finally getting to throw a 35lb plate on each side and I finally did!! For two!! ✌🏼😱 Getting so close to my lifetime goal of 135lb so I can see that sweet sweet plate on there.

    The reason why this bench was so special was because I failed this last week. I had 115x2 prescribed and had to ask somebody for a spot just in case. I explicitly explained to not touch the bar unless it drops and whatnot but sure enough when I went into my set... he was practically lifting it through both reps. It felt TOO easy. So I thought I’d take ample rest and tackle it on my own but I couldn’t even get half a rep and had to rack it on the lowest hook 😔

    So this week I decided to shift my timing a bit so Kyle could spot me and I got it!!!! Without even needing a spot 😅 maybe it’s his presence haha. But I felt so redeemed hence my excitement lmao. Even though the first rep pause was a bit rushed, I’m finally feeling more confident with my bench. Fucking finally 🤪

    You’ve heard the saying couples that lift together stay together, right? What about the saying couples that eat clean together stay together?

    Personally this isn’t one I have heard but it is definitely true! This is #swolemate @5280fit ‘s transformation!

    Just a couple months into our relationship on the left and current on the right. Dan had stopped programming with @teamelitephysique for a while, had a couple too many cheat meals in his “single days” but started up again and look at the differences!
    __
    Given we both follow “clean eating” year round with very infrequent cheat meals, few days taken off from the gym, we both have an easier time staying lean because we live this lifestyle together! It’s not abnormal for us to find a gym when traveling, pack food, meal prep together, etc because we do it together and support one another.
    __
    We motivate one another to be better disciplined with our diets and are understanding of each other when one needs to do cardio or squeeze in a workout instead of sitting at home together. We have plenty of date nights, we just do more activities that aren’t food oriented.
    __
    If you are currently in a relationship where your significant other is on the “fitness train” maybe try hopping on board with them! Instead of being upset that they can’t get a cheat meal with you or that they’re having late nights at the gym, maybe try finding a place for a date that doesn’t involve food or going to the gym with them.

    Get your partner going on their own programming or plan too to improve together... and stay together! #teamelitephysique
