- Getting injured 🤕 is a b!tch! The true test is how you respond to those injuries and move forward.
What should you do? 🤔 ✅ Get a grip, you are injured and not dead... you will recover and you will NOT lose all of your progress! ✅ Find out what is really going on as accurately as possible...guessing will only get you so far. ✅ Come up with a treatment plan...with a medical professional if necessary. ✅ Stay as aggressive as possible not only with your recovery but also with continuing to be active in some way. ✅ Re-evaluate and move on...it may be time to change up your training style or goals in order to keep doing what you love to do. 💪🏿 This time it was a minor muscle pull during the golf off season. Same thing in season would not have allowed me to play for a while which is important to me. So the goal is to get back to moving even if the weights are much lighter to start so that I am ready to 🏌🏿 when the weather breaks! #injury #injuries #recovery #comeback #fitlife #gymlife #getback #workout #goals #injured #treatment

- 6 years ago, I’d just been selected to participate in a fitness challenge for 12 weeks but before I started, I’d lost my confidence & couldn’t bare the sight of myself in the mirror.
I was happily single, well connected with what I wanted out of life, & being overweight was just a distraction. The challenge gave me the boost I needed & even though I didn’t win the competition, I fell in love with the gift of wellness. Just seeing that I could have 6packs was a great motivation for me 😂
Then life became so hectic - I was back in school for a Masters Degree, fell in love with this man I’d just met, working 9-5 & juggling this baking business. It was so easy for me to call it quits with working out or eating clean because ‘I didn’t have the time’ but guess what, there was no quitting with my health knowing what I went through at the hospital when they took out my appendix due to my unhealthy lifestyle.
I remember the days I couldn’t make it to the gym but I would wake up at 4am to workout before driving to work at 5am! I remember the days my food would go bad because of bad electricity but I had make do with ordering for healthy meals when I needed to.
My new normal is now working out everyday, cooking healthy meals for myself & my little family because I love it. Some days are not so convenient but my healthy habits have come to be permanent. I love that Bryan eats homemade food/snacks with such delight & how he gets excited when it’s time for some exercise.
I’ve had some random moments on this journey but I’ve never given up on myself. Let me tell you, my life has completely changed from when I started, I feel more responsible, happier, sexier & so proud to be a motivation to thousands of people living their best life on the LifestyleChangeWithApril. I’m so proud of every single one of you and you can join us too 🤩🤩
