- Cardio or weight training??
If you had to choose just one/ only have time for just one I would HIGHLYYYYY (emphasis on highly) recommend weight training. Yes. your Apple Watch may say you’re burning more calories during your cardio sessions but that is (just) during your cardio sessions. With weight training - your body will continue to burn throughout the day as it is repairing the muscles we broke down in our sessions👏🏻 Along with this, the more lean muscle mass your body has, the more it can burn calories throughout the day (yes this means MORE FOOD) and how do we get that muscle mass? Weight lifting 🏋️♀️
We out here trying to speed up our metabolisms so we can eat all the goods 👏🏻 Weight training will help get us there - while cardio won’t. Now I’m also not saying don’t ever do cardio, depending on your goals it can be helpful AND it is important to do some type of cardio to keep our lungs and heart healthy!
I like to add a couple plyometric movements in my lifts every so often to get my lungs and heart workin! For example, I may superset RDLS with jump squats! This is just my two scents but I think they are pretty good ones ☝🏻
