  • Low-Carb Garlic Butter Meatballs
    1 pound ground chicken
    5 garlic cloves, minced and divided
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 parmesan, plus more for garnish
    2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
    1/4 tsp red pepper, flakes
    Kosher Salt
    Freshly ground black pepper
    2 tbsp. extra virgin Olive oil
    4 tbsp. Butter
    Juice of 1/2 a lemon
    1 pound zoodles
    Direction: In a large bowl mix together ground chicken, egg, garlic, parmesan, parsley, red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper then form into tablespoon sized meatballs.
    In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil and cook meatballs until golden in all sides, cook through 10 minutes. Transfer to a plate and wipe out skillets with paper towel.
    Melt butter on skillet then add three remaining garlic cloves and cook until fragrant, 1 minute. Add zoodles to skillet and toss in garlic butter then squeeze in lemon juice. Add meatballs back and heat just until warm through. Garnish with Parmesan to serve.

  • When I saw @gelatomessina had done a range of Drumsticks, they went straight on the shopping list. 2 reasons: Messina is just that little bit too far away to go to for an ice cream fix and I can’t eat the classic Drumstick due to the peanuts. I read their collab story about how the recipes had to be modified to suit commercial production which is understandable, but after trying the dulce de leche flavour, I think I will stick to holding out and savouring a scoop of the real thing when I get the chance🍦

  • Hey, I’ll let you in on a little secret:
    You don’t need all those detox protocols, supplements, and teas because your OWN BODY does a damn fine job for you. Thank goodness for livers, amirite?

    If your liver and kidneys are functioning, that’s all you need. Cleanses and skinny teas are unnecessary, unhealthy, and pretty much a waste of your money.
    ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    Feel like you need a detox?

    1. HYDRATE. Good hydration = toxins flushed out. Aim for at least 2.5L of water a day, add in 250mL for every diuretic drink (coffee, tea, juice, soda, alcohol), and more if you’re active/sweating.

    2. Cut out sugar, processed foods, gluten, and alcohol. Pick even just one of those and I can guarantee you’ll feel an immediate difference.

    3. Eat your veggies, kids! Go crazy. Focus on cruciferous and bitter greens like Brussels sprouts, kale, arugula, beets, and dandelion greens.

    4. Quality quality quality. You’ll crave less junk when you’re eating the right foods. Where’s your protein and healthy fat in every meal? Get it in!

    5. SLEEP. If you’re not sick of hearing this yet, then let me drill it in even more - you NEED quality sleep every night for your body to reset all its systems. And we all know sleep deprivation leads to not-so-great decisions…

    Funny how your body knows what to do with real, wholesome food more than a diet supplement, huh? 😏

  • It would t be the year of deliciousness without a few dips! They are after all one of my favourite things to create... and One of my favourite dips to serve with crudites, breads or a bases to a salad, alongside BBQ meats, a piece of fish or roast veggies..... Sweet n sour Beetroot, @thecocotribe coconut yoghurt & caraway dip with pistachio, sumac & pomegranate molasses... everything works so well together... my biggest tip for eating well at home without too much fuss is to be prepared, make extra dips, sauces, condiments so adding those things and really adding game to your dishes is rather effortless! Love for you to try this in your year of deliciousness!
