  • Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. Many would have taken that as a sign that God has forsaken him. But as we read on we see that God was very much with him. He even blessed him in those terrible circumstances and as a result his master's house was blessed because if him.

If you notice, God did not remove him from slavery but kept him through it and still helped him to be happy and successful in the situation. Then his situation got worse in verse 20 when his master threw him in prison even though his was innocent. Surely this shows that God was forsakening him.... But No! In the very next verse, God shows mercy on him and blesses him still. He still hasn't left his side or taken his hand off of him.
Too many preachers are spreading the false message that the only way to tell if God is with you or showing you favor is if you are rich and living a good life (according to their standards 😉). That is so far from the truth. Though we will go through hard times and unfair situations due to the evil actions of others, God will keep us through that and still bless us. And the blessings will come in different forms. For Joseph it was throuhh health, safety, finding favor in his master's eyes so that he wasn't abused, learned valuable leadership and business skills that he will use later in life, and was still respected by his enemies despite is low position. God kept him in this place to develop him into the man he needed to be when God called him into greatness. He wouldn't have learned those skills tending his father's flocks and being pampered.
God is ordering your steps. Trust Him, even through the hard times. He hasn't forsaken you. If you feel He is not there, make sure you haven't let go of His hand.

  • When you "let go and let God" for the hope that "better versions" of things will come, then you're only "letting go and letting God" temporarily.

Cause in the same way, you're placing your hope on temporary things that may eventually fail.

Let go and let God—basically means decluttering stuff (things that destroy you and hinder you to grow), throwing them away, to fill that space with God.

We let go of people, material things, or thoughts, not necessarily to replace them with better person, grander material things, or wiser thoughts.

We let them go so that we could have more space for Jesus—our lasting possession. (Hebrews 10:34) 💜

Non, Jésus est venu abattre les murs qui nous séparaient de l'Amour parfait et inconditionnel, nous donnant ainsi la victoire et la liberté."- Leslie Passerino

  • God, who created us, has asked us to do His will and use the talents and gifts He has given us. When we gain clarity on this thing or hear the voice of God calling us to do something, in our joy and excitement we often share it with those we love and are closest to us. Heck, sometimes we will tell anyone who will listen. Lol. But the sad truth is the ones closest to us are often the last people to believe in us. They will call you a dreamer and tell you all sorts of things to shut down your ambition.
Joseph's brothers did it to him. Even the people in Nazareth did it to Jesus. Both of them even had people go to the extremes of trying to kill them. The ones close to you tend to see your faults more than your potential. Or they cannot see themselves doing it so they automatically place their doubts and fears on you. It is the sad truth of human nature. But it doesn't have to be this way.

Today I want to encourage you to be obedient to God's will no matter who is opposing you. Don't let them kill His dream in you. Just make sure it is His will and He will order your footsteps and work things out for your good. Your job is not to convince others of a dream that was bot given to them. It is to walk in the path that God has given you to grow your relationship with Him and bring glory and honor to His name.

  • Paul is letting us know that our salvation shouldn’t be the end of our Christian journeys but instead the beginning. Our actions shouldn’t show we have earned it but that we have have been saved, have Christ within us, and are living for him.
He let’s us know we should be made rooted and built up in Christ. His word should be our foundation.
Not shown but in verse 8 of Colossians Paul warns us that we should be careful not to get caught up in other philosophies....especially those based on human traditions or elements of this world.

  • The Sand Dollar Story
    .
I remember when I was a child, my parents used to take me and my brothers on vacation to a place in the Baja called San Felipe.
It was such an adventure to get up early in the morning to try to find sand dollars when the water tide was low. It was like finding a hidden treasure. .
Many things had happened since my last visit there when I was 12 years old. Earlier this year, my youngest brother invited me to visit that place again. Once I got there, I started having all these memories, and the first thing I wanted to do was to find a sand dollar. .
Since I was not being successful in my search, I had the audacity to ask God to help me find one. I said, “God, if you have truly called me and want me to start preaching your word, please help me find a sand dollar. That will be the last sign I ask for, I promise’. .
In our last day, right before we were getting ready to head back home, My aunt Alma (the first christian in our family) said, “ Is this what you are looking for?” while she was pointing at a beautiful sand dollar she was holding in her hand. My heart shook. That sand dollar did not only represent a memory from my past, but my future in God’s hands. .
Finding that sand dollar was a reminder of God’s promises and faithfulness in my life.
Once again, I was reminded of my purpose and my calling. Flourish came after that.
    .
Like me, We all have a story to tell.
Today I want to encourage you to use your talents, your abilities and your gifts to share your story. To declare all the things that God has done for you.
    .
Embrace your call, and live intentionally in your purpose for the Glory of God. .
“It has seemed good to me to declare the signs and wonders which the Most High God has done for me.”

  • Reflecting on the last few years and realizing that I am a living, breathing testimony of this scripture. If you haven't experienced God for yourself, I encourage you to do so. No amount of learning and reading can show you God more than experiencing Him!

All you have to do is TRUST and BELIEVE!

  • How is it that a poor widow who only put in a few cents give more than the rich teachers and leaders who put in lots of money?

It is because she gave from her heart and she gave all she had. It's not how much we give to the Lord that He is impressed with. It is the motive behind the giving. It's not the money He desires, for it is all His to begin with. He wants your heart, all of it. The leaders gave from what was leftover in their abundance. They gave to look good in front of others... to look godly and righteous. Pleasing God wasn't their objective. She, on the other hand, put God first and gave all she had, showing her faith in God that He will provide for her. She gave everything she had in a humble spirit, just because she loved Him. Her motive was of worship and God loved it more than any other gift that day cause it was pure.

Are we giving God our whole heart? Are we making Him a priority or just a task to do on our checklist? Are you giving Him your time because you want to be with Him or just throwing Him a few minutes to calm your conscience and tell yourself that you spent time with Him and do what is expected of Christians. Search your heart and seek to be close to Him and serve Him from the right motive.
