    💦 DRINK WATER 💦 ⠀

    😱 ERMAHGERD!!!! 🤯 Novel idea, right?! ⠀

    Listen, we all know water is important, but how many people actually drink enough to properly support the needs of the body?? ⠀

    💧Water makes up more the 50% of the human body, and it needs to be refreshed and replenished daily. Its necessary to flush toxins out of the body, lubricate joints, moisten lungs, improve muscles function and recovery, support the production of digestive juices (saliva, stomach acid and enzymes)... and help you poop. 💫And ya’ll know how much I value a regular daily healthy 💩 as a rule for improving health. ⠀

    ❌POP, coffee, caffeinated teas, alcohol, juice, smoothies etc... don’t count as water ⠀

    ✅ water (as well as fancy water with cucumber and mint), lemon water, some herbal teas... these can all count towards water intake ⠀

    Typical rule of thumb is 2L for an average sized adult. That’s 8 x250 ml glasses, or 4 x500ml bottles of water. ⠀

    💧Don’t wait till you feel thirsty or have dry mouth. The need for water is constant ⠀

    Tip: drink 500-1000 ml of water, first thing in the morning to wake up the body and improve hydration. 🍋 I prefer a super large (room temp or warm) lemon water to start my day 🥰 ⠀

  • I have some Caramel Star bites I must share with you all! This treat is a #nobakedessert & #vegan friendly. + it is easy to make and melts in your mouth ~ win-win! This can easily be adapted into a larger dessert and topped with chocolate to finish it off (might try that next time) 👌
    Recipe below ✌️what's your fav dessert snack? .
    Base:
    1/3 cup #organic rolled oats
    1/2 cup mixed nuts - I used walnuts, pistachios, cashews & almonds
    2 tbsp coconut oil
    8 organic dates chopped.
    .
    Caramel filling
    1/2 cup pure water
    1/2 cup coconut sugar
    2 tbsp maple syrup
    TSP vanilla essence
    1/2 cup coconut cream
    1 tbsp tahini paste
    .
    .
    1️⃣ In a food processor combine the base ingredients until nuts are well chopped. You want some crunchy texture from the nuts. Add water if consistency is not as desired.
    2️⃣ Take base mixture and fill a rubber star mould or mould of choice, lining the base with nut mixture. Put into the freezer until firm.
    3️⃣ Meanwhile, to make the caramel filling, put on medium heat the water, coconut sugar, maple syrup, vanilla essence and reduce by half to a thicker consistentncy.
    4️⃣ In a blender combine the coconut cream and tahini paste. Slowly pour the mixture into the caramel sauce whisking as you go.
    5️⃣ Let sauce simmer for 5 more minutes before turning off the heat.
    6️⃣ Pour into glass jar and let cool slightly. Once at the right thickness pour the caramel into the star moulds and freeze. .
    Once set store these in the freezer or fridge depending of the consistentcy you like your caramel. .

  • Taking a break with White Spaces

    First off, what exactly is a White Space?
    A White Space is the strategic pause between activities, it can be as short or long as you want. A white space in your schedule.
    *
    Why would I want to?
    - By giving our brain some time to recuperate, we stave off cognitive fatigue and the drop in performance that comes along with it
    - Enhanced problem solving
    - Heightened creativity
    - Calm
    *
    My experience
    I’ve been finding myself, in a do-do-do mode again without really taking breaks throughout the day. It’s been feeling like I finish one task then immediately start the next and repeat until the day is over. I get to the stage where I’m feeling a bit frantic and not focused as well as I could be.
    Having that white space in my schedule, where I know my laptop and phone won’t be used and it’s just Stefan time gives me that feeling of dropping a burden. I can breathe properly again.
    So many more creative ideas flow to me during that time and throughout the rest of the day.

    What do you do in your white spaces?
    Anything. For me, a nature walk, playing guitar, reading a book for leisure, watching a movie and sometimes just sitting down and staring at nothing in particular.
